Dear Readers,


The first Bulk Solids India held in March 2010 was a big success. Participation of around 800 delegates confirmed the great importance of such a platform in India which is unique to the Indian market. The exhibition provided much needed information on the latest products and services related to bulk materials storage and handling.  Well renowned experts from all over the world participated in the technical deliberations and interacted with the delegates.

BulkSolids India 2010

The second edition of the Bulk Solids India has been expanded both in its format and the technical contents.  It will be a 3 day event with a much larger exhibition area and new topics from chemical processing added to the conference sessions. While all the topics from the previous event have been retained, several new topics have been added to make the conference broad based. The significant growth witnessed in the food and pharmaceuticals makes these sectors an important segment of the processing industry. Two sessions have been planned for solids handling and processing in these sectors. Chemical Processing Technologies for Powder and Bulk Material is another important addition to the technical contents of the conference. Management and utilisation of fly ash continues to be a high priority for the power sector in India. This necessitates long distance transportation of fly ash using the rail network. I shall look forward to technical inputs from the experts associated with this industry.

BulkSolids India 2010

The technical contents of the Bulk Solids India 2011 will be further enriched with half day exhaustive workshops on specific topics. The potential topics for the workshops include Pneumatic Conveying Technology, Explosion Protection, Chemical Processing and Hoppers and Silo Design. In addition, special slots are being planned for the exhibitor’s forum where delegates can get detailed information about the industrial products for various applications. I am sure these additions will provide further impetus to make this event technically satisfying. Bulk Solids India 2011 will act as a catalyst to bring the technical experts both from the industry and the academia together for a meaningful interaction. Close interaction between the industry and the academia will help the researchers to share knowledge and get information on practical applications of the subject.


It will be a pleasure to see you at the 2nd edition of Bulk Solids India in April 2011 and I hope you will have an enriching experience at the event.
