Dr. S.S.Mallick is the founder and Director of BULKSOLIDS INNOVATION INDIA Private Limited. He is also Professor and faculty-in-charge of ‘Powder Flow’ Laboratory of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology and in this capacity he has been the Principal Investigator for several design, research and troubleshooting projects for NTPC, OPGC, HPGC, Reliance, Aditya Birla Group etc. Dr. Mallick completed BE in Mechanical Engineering from Bengal Engineering College (Shibpur) in the year 2001. After a brief stay in the manufacturing industry he served Development Consultant Private Limited (DCPL) as a Design Engineer providing consultancy services to thermal power plants. Subsequently he completed Post-Graduation from IIT Delhi and travelled to University of Wollongong Australia with full scholarship to carry out PhD work in the area of pneumatic conveying of bulk solids. Dr. Mallick specializes in pneumatic conveying and flow properties. He is also the Associate Editor of an International Journal: Particulate Science & Technology (Taylor & Francis).

Dr. Kundan Lal is a Co-Founder and Director of BULKSOLIDS INNOVATION INDIA. He is also Assistant Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology. He specializes in micro and nano-scale heat transport in particle systems and powder flow simulation.

Mr. Dipta Sundar Mallick is a Director of BULKSOLIDS INNOVATION INDIA. He holds Post Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and has more than 45 years of experience in conceptual design, layout, equipment selection and detail engineering of various systems related to various plants, particularly Thermal power plants and Petro Chemical plants. His specialization is in bulk materials handling, cogeneration and waste heat recovery. He has been the Executive Director and Head of the Department Mechanical Engineering at Development Consultants Private Limited (DCPL), a pioneering Consulting Engineering company in India and in such capacity he has successfully executed projects of national and international importance for NTPC, Indian Navy, Nuclear Power Corporation, State Electricity Boards, Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Indian Navy etc. He has been a member of various committees of Indian Standard (IS). In addition to his extensive industry work, Mr. Mallick is a visiting faculty for Bachelors and Masters of Engineering program for Jadavpur University, Kolkata and for BITS Pilani.

Mr. Arijit Deb is a Director of BULKSOLIDS INNOVATION INDIA. He has 49+ years experience in Design, Construction, Contracts, Procurement Management for Bulk Materials Engineering in India and Overseas. He has been associated with Kaveri Ultra Polymers Pvt. Ltd. as Executive Director, providing solutions through diverse products and systems.

Prof. Dr. Peter Wypych is the Senior Advisor of BULKSOLIDS INNOVATION INDIA. Hehas been involved with the pneumatic transportation of powders and granular products at the University of Wollongong (UOW) since 1981. Since the 1990’s, Prof. Wypych expanded his expertise and capabilities into: bulk material characterisation and flow properties for design and operation of storage facilities and bulk material handling equipment; dust control/mitigation/suppression technologies, co-simulation dynamic modelling and design of conveyor transfers and design and optimisation of heavy equipment (e.g. stackers, reclaimers, miners, etc.); R&D of environmentally-friendly and more energy efficient belt conveying technology. Prof. Wypych is the Director of the International Solids Handling Research Institute (ISHRI), which was established at UOW in 2015. He has been awarded in excess of AUD $5-Million in contract research grants from industry and has completed over 1000 projects for all sectors, such as mining, power, refineries, smelters, iron and steel, agriculture, chemical, shipping, ports and terminals.

Dr. Prashant Singh Rana is our associate for the Artificial Intelligence Applications and the founder and Director of MLTool Technologies Pvt Ltd. He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Patiala, Punjab. He has been the PI and Co-PI for several research projects sponsored by DST, ICMR, and NVIDIA. His areas of research are Machine Learning, Deep Learning, AI base system development, and Optimization. He received his PhD and MTech from ABV-IIITM, Gwalior. He has published more than 70 research papers in different journals and conferences. He also published 10 patents.

Mr. Bhanu Samanta is the Ex GM-MM/AM, Korba, NTPC. He has 36 years of Ash Handling in NTPC in the areas of operations, maintenance, commissioning and Corporate OS (BOP). He has prepared for NTPC write-up on O&M and best practices for ash evacuation system.  Mr. Samanta was involved in Dry Ash System improvement process of various NTPC stations, such as Dadri, Bhilai, Mouda, Kudgi, Solapur, Lara, Gadarwara, Bomgaigaon, Unchahar, Darlipli etc.  He is the Advisor of BSII.
